1929 Bugatti Royale Type 41 Coach Weymann

The Bugatti Type 41, better known as the Royale, is a large luxury car with a 4.3 m (169.3 in) wheelbase and 6.4 m (21 ft) overall length. It weighs approximately 3175 kg (7000 lb) and uses a 12.7 L (12763 cc/778 in³) straight-8 engine. For comparison, against the modern Rolls-Royce Phantom, the Royale is about 20% longer, and more than 25% heavier. This makes the Royale one of the largest cars in the world.

Ettore Bugatti planned to build twenty-five of these cars, sell them to royalty and to be the most luxurious car ever. But even European royalty was not buying such things during the Great Depression, and Bugatti was able to sell only three of the six made. All Royales were individually bodied. The radiator cap was a posed elephant, a sculpture by Ettore's brother Rembrandt Bugatti.[8]

1928 Bugatti Royal Coupe Napoleon from Ixo,

The Bugatti car margjue is a storied one that has intrigued me when I first heard about it as a kid,  Etore Buggatti was a flamboyant man and artist who watned to build the most luxurious auto for heads of state and royalties/ He almost made it with some of the most powerful and impressively appointed cars of its time when Rolls Royce lorded the categorhy, except that WWII and the Nazi regime halted his dreams.  The most famous of his cars was the Type 41 that had gone through several designs one of which was the Coupe Napoleon .  The Solido brand of 1/43 cars was impressive when I got it in 1993, but the recent acqusitiion of the IXO version beats that. with a level of authenticity that is quite accurate.

Updating my first ever die cast model - the Matchbox 1911 Ford Model T

The matchbox model is indicated to have a 1/42 scale  But since it is usually smaller, it could pass off as a 1/43  Here is the model with some added features .  You can see the difference between the stock and the modified versions.

After decades in my closet. it no longer has  its horn equipment as seen on the  hole on the right side  and a broken clutch shift stick.  I already made initial modifications with a repainting of the  side steps , tire wheels and adding windshield based on some photos of the real thing. That was five years ago.

This is the modified model as of this writing.

As last touch, I housed it in a n acrylic display case designed for smaller models and is just perfect. good thing this model, my mother gifted me back in 1965 has holes in the u8nderbiody that can be fitted with a screw,
